Pickleball Etiquette
Pre-play: Introduce yourself to opponents
Communication & Sportsmanship: Always announce the score before serving. In doubles, communicate with you partner (‘mine’ or ‘yours’)
Safety & Court Management: stop play immediately if a ball from another court enters your area. When retrieving a ball do not enter an active court until play has ceased
Line Calls: Only make calls on your side of the net, and if in doubt call it ‘in’
Gameplay & Respect: Do not intentionally hit the ball at opponents. During open play, avoid aggressive play against less experienced players
Walking Behind Courts: Wait for the rally to end before walking behind an active court
During Play: If you make an error win a point on a fluke (e.g when the ball hits net cord and goes in), a quick apology is polite
Post-game: Tap paddles at the net and thank opponents, regardless of the outcome
